Today, I remember those longforgotten days
of the auspicious dawn of my life,
when I came to know You in my crying.
O, Lord of petty entities!

Countless days have come and gone.
Countless nights have become hidden in light.
You exist beyond the realm of light and shade.
O Lord of effulgence!
O my Lord of beauteous forms!

Beyond the feelings of known and unknown,
the sweetness of spiritual realisation
forever flows around Your feet.

O Lord of sweetness!
Thou art beyond illusion!
O my Lord of songs!

Purport:
O Lord, I remember the past days when I came into this world as a newborn child my first communication with the world was through crying. Not tears, crying. A newborn child does like this (demonstrates). So the first talk to the world is crying; there may or may not be tears. In the first phase You come to me in the form of so many small things, childhood needs; then You come in the form of so many big expressions water, air, sky. And then in the final phase, You come in the form of songs.
