O Lord,
for You,
I threaded a garland of malati flowers
(a jasmine type, tall
and red and white flowering creeper).

For You, I rehearsed my melody.
Absorbing my mind in You,
I decorated my altar with flowers.
I continued crying to attain You.

Whatever I obtained
was due to Your grace only.

What I did not get,
was because You did not want it so.

You make me move for my welfare only.
You never think of harming anyone.
Therefore, I have attuned my heart to Your rythm.

You gave me intellect, intuition
and discriminating capacity.
You raised my mind,
piercing through all the seven strata of existence.

It is Your uncomparable love
that has been kissing my cheeks life after life.
You relieve me from all fears and doubts.
And therefore, I move towards You, crushing all obstacles.

For You I have woven a ma'latii garland.
Only for You I rehearsed my songs.
Only for You I decorated myself with flowers,
I cry and cry to get You close to me.

Whatever I have attained, I attained by Your grace.
And what I did not attain,
was because You didn't want it for me.

You led me on for the sake of my own welfare.
You never thought of harming me.
My heart became attuned to Your rhythm.

You gave me conscience, intellect and intuition.
You elevated my mind above the seven worlds.

My matchless love for You will never end.
It will remain life after life,
and lead me unto welfare.

You are the assuager of all my fears and doubts.
Crushing all obstacles in my way, I shall reach You.
